December 2001
Craig Seko will drive the Bald Head Racing Porsche 944 S2 in the Targa Newfoundland, with Jim Morrow co-driving. Supporting the pair are Jean MacGillivray, Sharen Findlay, and Craig and Karen Hamm. Bald Head Racing is based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and is a group of enthusiasts belonging to the Motorsport Club of Ottawa.
Craig Seko has been driving on the track for almost 15 years. His first taste of driving was at a Porsche Club event at Mosport, where he drove his then brand-new 1987 Porsche 924S. A confirmed "track junkie," Craig has completed over 50 track events at Mosport, Shannonville, Mont-Tremblant and Watkins Glen. He has become a track driving-instructor with the Porsche Club of America and the Competition Corvette Club, and obtained his novice racing license in 1998. That year, Craig also won the first of his two Solo 2 class championships to date. In 1999, Craig organized the Porsche Club race at Mont-Tremblant, receiving a special recognition award for his efforts. When not preparing for the Targa, Craig is a senior analyst as Statistics Canada, researching health outcomes.
Jim Morrow was just awarded rally driver of the year in the Motorsport Club of Ottawa. Last year he was navigator of the year, swapping roles and honours with Jaak Laan. This year they are again running in the Canadian Yokohama Winter Rally Series, with Jim navigating. Jim is also an avid autocrosser with his 1998 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS, and has attended ground performance, track and winter-driving schools. Besides driving and navigating, Jim organizes the Motorsport Club of Ottawa's rally series, and has just completed a stint as the club's liaison with the Canadian Association of Rally Sports. When not in the co-driver's seat, Jim is a senior consultant with Rosetta Consulting Inc., specializing in IT management.
Jean MacGillivray is looking forward to the Targa Newfoundland and living the experience vicariously through the Bald Heads. She is getting her 2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS ready for the ice-racing season and also enjoys rallying, autocross and lapping-days at Shannonville. She has attended ground performance, track and winter-driving schools. A fan of German engineering, she eagerly awaits the day when her 1973 BMW 2002 is road-worthy. When not thinking car thoughts, Jean is a senior editorial consultant with Rosetta Consulting Inc., where she specializes in natural-resources science and technology.
